BARRATT’S CHAPEL CEMETERY
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR VISITORS

1. The cemetery will be open daily from dawn to dusk.

2. Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery is not responsible for theft or vandalism to cemetery lots.

3. We ask that visitors refrain from parking on grassy areas within the cemetery.

4. No burial shall occur unless a licensed funeral director is onsite and in charge.

5. Grave stones must be placed on graves. Wooden crosses or other temporary markers are not acceptable headstones. For acceptable alternatives, please contact the Caretaker.

6. For ease of maintenance, ornaments on or in front of the grave stones shall protrude no more than 6 inches from the stone. Glass containers of any type are not permitted and will be removed.

7. Statues of a religious or secular nature are not permitted and will be removed if deemed to be unsafe.

8. Lot owners shall not plant shrubs, bushes or trees on or near the plots.

9. The cemetery reserves the right to remove flower arrangements or flowers on grave sites one week after the conclusion of the funeral. Spring clean-up begins March 1. All flowers and decorations will be removed from graves and monuments at that time.

10. Burial of animal remains on cemetery lots is not permitted. Animal sacrifices or sprinkling of blood over grave sites is not permitted.

11. No motorbikes, ATVs, horseback riding, skateboarding, drugs, alcoholic beverages or any inappropriate behavior will be permitted in the cemetery.

12. Companies performing work in the cemetery must coordinate their work with the Caretaker. Additional questions regarding use of the cemetery should be directed to the Caretaker.
